The life of a bestselling mystery novelist continues to allow for boundless travel.

The second season of Murder, She Wrote placed #3 in the yearly television rankings, ahead of 60 Minutes and just behind the juggernaut Family Ties - an extremely strong sophomore effort, and the best ratings the show would ever get. First that year was The Cosby Show. Murder, She Wrote aired September 1985 to May 1986.

A great Murder, She Wrote blog post I found:

and a shout-out to IMDB user WeatherViolet, who has very thoroughly reviewed every or nearly every episode of the show over on IMDB. While my guest star notes are just actors I recognize or are otherwise well-known, WeatherViolet makes it a point to note *everyone* who's in the episodes. The plot details are also pretty good.

Interestingly, the other shows WeatherViolet seems to follow are Inspector Lewis (good), Curious George (!), Wallander (good), many many episodes of the A&E Biography series (astounding dedication), and a smattering of random fare like the Lawrence Welk Show, the Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, etc.

A blue ribbon to WeatherViolet for excellent contributions to the Murder, She Wrote canon.
And now: some personal rankings -

Best Episode: Joshua Peabody Died Here... Possibly

Runners-Up: Sticks and Stones; Keep the Home Fries Burning; The Perfect Foil.

Worst Episode: Sing a Song of Murder

Runners-Up: Jessica Behind Bars; Paint Me a Murder; Powder Keg.
